Buckingham Park is the first pilot school for an initiative set up by Buckinghamshire Domestic Abuse Partnership as a Reporting and Supporting Hub under the Phoenix Project.
Mrs Platt (Assistant Headteacher) and Miss Eaver (Child and Family Support Worker) are both fully trained as Domestic Abuse Champions and work as part of our wider safeguarding team to support children and families experiencing domestic abuse.
What is Domestic Abuse?
One in 20 adults are estimated to experience domestic abuse every year, equating to almost 21,000 people a year in Buckinghamshire or 57 people every day. It is a crime which disproportionately affects women, however it can happen to anyone anywhere irrespective of sexuality, religion, gender, ethnicity, income or age Women’s Aid defines domestic abuse as: “an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer” This can take many forms - psychological abuse, physical or sexual abuse as well as emotionally or financially controlling behaviour and can be perpetrated by women or men.

Via email at [email protected]. This email address and phone line are only manned by our safeguarding team who operate on a strict confidential understanding.

What support is available?
If you are experiencing, or aware of domestic abuse happening in your home or elsewhere, the staff will be able to deal with your disclosures, signpost families to avenues of support and make supporting contact with other agencies where needed. See attached some information with local services which could support, or use the Bucks Domestic Abuse Partnership website by clicking here.
