Reception - Waddesdon Manor Trip

Reception attended a Fairytale workshop at Waddesdon Manor this week where  they focused on the story of Sleeping Beauty. The children went up to the Bakst room in the Manor to explore the Sleeping beauty paintings created by Leon Bakst.  The children had great fun counting the 42 steps up to the turret room where the volunteers used the paintings to retell the story. The children also explored the Aviary and developed their descriptive language as they explored the grounds at Waddesdon Manor. In the afternoon the children spent time cutting and sticking the painting into the correct sequence. The highlight of the day for the children was the picnic lunch in the much appreciated shade. 

The staff and volunteers at Waddesdon Manor where super impressed with the children's knowledge and manners throughout the trip! Likewise the children were so excited when they got back to school and spent the rest of the day talking about how kind and helpful they had been so decided to create some thank you cards to post out to the volunteers.
