World Book Day

We have seen some fantastic work this week and last over our two week focus on the books of Julia Donaldson. 

We had a few raised eyebrows, especially from our older children when they were told we would be studying picture books - and lots who were very excited!

See above some excerpts from work undertaken by some of our Year 5 children - exploring dialogue which isn't a big part of picture books for the youngest children. This time, working out a fictional conversation between the whale and the storm in 'The Snail and the Whale'. I am sure you will agree there is some fantastic work here!

Who said older children can't get fantastic writing from simple starting points - certainly not us at BP! Thanks to Israel, Penelope, Grace and Ivy in Year 5 for their hard work above.
