Down Syndrome Awareness

Kishun in Year 4 recently had a once in a lifetime experience we wanted to share with you all...

Kishun's sister, Nyra, was born with Down Syndrome and Kishun has become a bit of an advocate for the condition. His sister was chosen to appear on a billboard in Times Square, New York as  part of an international Down Sydrome Inclusion campaign - something Kishun was incredible proud of. See the picture above of him with Nyra in the background

The family also met up with hundreds of other families with children with Down Syndrome for an event in Central Park and took part in other experiences around inclusion, representation, disability awareness and advocacy, while also seeing first-hand how people with Down syndrome can be represented positively in society.

What an amazing opportunity - not many people get to see their favourite person up in lights in Time Square!
