Assessment in Year 2 and Year 6
At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2) and Key Stage 2 (Year 6) we make formal assessments of the children which are based on the Government's requirements for end of key stage assessment. These assessments of a child's ability in mathematics, reading, writing and science are based on a mixture of test assessment and teacher assessment.
Each year we hold meetings with parents of children in these year groups to explain the nature of the assessment, how we manage the process at Buckingham Park, and how parents can support children. The materials shared at the meetings are below.

Year 2
Whilst the Year 2 assessments are now optional for schools, we continue to undertake these to validate teachers assessment and to provide useful testing preparation for the children.
