You told us...
A number of parents enquired as to whether we could start a Breakfast Club at school. The morning routine was becoming difficult as the school was growing. Too many people on the school corridors and difficult to see that the children were safe coming into school. The office was becoming rather busy in the mornings and it was frustrating for parents. Some parents were concerned that there was little shelter from the elements in the outside areas. Parents would like to see more written homework for older children and some clearer information for parents of younger children. You told us that you would like additional information about the learning in class, and about your child's progress. |
We responded...
We started a Breakfast Club which is now available for all parents to use. We changed our morning routine so that all children lined up in the playground and were collected by a member of staff. We now have a 'Parent Information Point' in the playground each morning to deal with any enquiries. We have added some covered elements to our play equipment and asked the PTA to fund a covered outside area. We reviewed out homework policy and have produced guides for each year group. We have introduced a weekly email to each class (Weekend Words) and some more detailed information about progress at each parents evening. |
