Governing Body agrees name of School

21/2/2012

The Governing Body met today and agreed the name of our new school as, 'Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School'.  The governing body considered other names but agreed the new name unanimously.

Nick Waldron, headteacher, comments, "Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School is the perfect name for a school which will be at the heart of the Buckingham Park community, and for the local community.  We want the school to be part of the heartbeat of the Buckingham Park housing estate so the governors were keen to use the name of the school to cement that association with the community."

The governors also discussed the progress of the school building which is on schedule to be handed over in good time for the September opening, the school's admission policy, the school's vision and values, staffing and uniform.

Headteacher Appointed for New School

1/2/2012

Experienced primary headteacher Nick Waldron has been appointed as headteacher for our new Primary School.

Mr Waldron has already started work preparing the way for the school, assisting the interim Governing Body, Oxford Diocese and Local Authority project teams as they work towards the opening of the new school in September 2012.

Mr Waldron has been a headteacher in Buckinghamshire for 12 years.  He is currently headteacher at Hazlemere Church of England Combined School near High Wycombe.  Prior to that he led Manor Farm Junior School and he has also worked for the local authority as a consultant headteacher.

From Easter Mr Waldron will be working full time for the school; behind the scenes, alongside the governing body, to recruit staff, prepare the school’s policies, oversee the premises development and get every aspect of the school ready for its opening in September.

Mr Waldron said: “I am so excited about the prospect of opening a brand new school at Buckingham Park which will be at the heart of the local community, and for the local community.  We want to enable our children and young people to be the very best they can be, and to that end we want Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School to be an outstanding primary school from the outset. It’s what we all want, and it’s what the children deserve.”
