In today's Worship Time we revealed the winners of our Sports Day and House Point shields. The Sports Day shield is awarded to the house whose team members have scored the most points in the events in our morning and afternoon sports days. Every speed bounce, every metre thrown and every race won has earned points for the team. The House Point shield is awarded to the house whose team memmbers have earned the most house points across the school year. Each week we give out our house trophy, but the shield is for the total number of house points awarded since the beginning of the year. Having checked and double-checked the scores, we have awarded both trophies to the house captains from...Sapphire! Well done to everyone in Sapphire and also to all those children who have earned so many house points this year, and who competed so well on Sports Day. The Sapphire House captains with the shields.

We finally got there! After two attempts which were postponed due to rain, we finally managed to avoid the showers and have some fun sports for our morning and afternoon nursery children. Our children had great fun with egg and spoon, dressing up, welly-wanging. bean bag throwing and racing. Well done to all the children and to the parents, PTA and staff for their support. This summer, libraries everywhere will be celebrating 100 years of the world’s greatest storyteller, Roald Dahl. The Big Friendly Read, Summer Reading Challenge 2016, will feature some of Roald Dahl’s best-loved characters and the amazing artwork of his principal illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake. The Summer Reading Challenge 2016 begins on Saturday 16 July. Children can sign up at our local library, then read at least six library books of their choice to collect special collector cards and other incentives along the way – all for FREE. There’s a website and an App to add to the fun too! |
