5 week course (Tuesdays)
Starting Tuesday 20 September

08:45 - 11:15

What is The Parenting Children Course?
The Parenting Children Course was developed in 1990 by Nicky and Sila Lee (authors of ‘The Parenting Book) for parents and care-givers looking for practical support to strengthen their family relationships.

Over five sessions, the course will help you to:
  • Build strong foundations
  • Meet your children's needs
  • Set clear boundaries
  • Teach healthy relationships
  • Consider your long term aim

Who is it for?
The Parenting Children Course is for parents, step-parents or carers of children in Reception to Year 6. The course is for every type of parenting situation including parenting on your own, step-parenting and parenting as a couple.

The Parenting Children Course is based on Christian principles but designed for all parents, with or without a church or faith background.

What can I expect?
On The Parenting Children Course you can meet other parents and carers with children of a similar age. Each session begins with refreshments (including breakfast on the first week!), giving you space to relax and chat to other parents or carers followed by a practical talk and a time for discussion in groups.  Each participant will receive a course book.

A DVD talk is shared which includes street interview, filmed clips of parents and children sharing their own experiences and advice from parenting experts. There is also an opportunity to discuss parenting issues with other parents and the course facilitators.

How much does it cost?
There is no charge for The Parenting Children Course. It’s FREE!

If you book in for the course and are unable to attend, you must let the course facilitators know in advance, otherwise there will be a £5 charge. This is to ensure that valuable resources are not wasted.  The course is being funded and supported by The Exchange Church which meets each week in the school.

How to book a place?
You can book a place using the form below or through the school office directly.

We are delighted that we are able to offer guitar lessons to children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 in partnership with ‘Guitar in Schools’.

Learning a musical instrument is a huge commitment from parents and children, but is massively rewarding.  The lessons will take place during school time, but each child will be expected to practice each day at home.

All the details about the tuition, the costs involved, and the lessons can be found on the 'Guitar in Schools' website. You can also enrol online.

If you have any questions about learning the guitar in school, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is Breakfast Club?
The Buckingham Park School Breakfast Club provides breakfast in a safe, secure and relaxed environment together with a range of activities for the children before school. The children are encouraged to be responsible and grow as individuals with guidance from qualified, experienced school staff.

When is Breakfast Club?
Opening hours are Monday to Friday, during term time only from 7.40am until 8.40am.

Children may arrive no earlier than 7.40am; breakfast will be available up until 8.15am (children arriving after 08.15am will not be served a breakfast).

Who leads Breakfast Club?
Breakfast Club is a simple extension of the school day and is managed by the school’s leadership team.  It is led by staff members.

Where is Breakfast Club?
Breakfast Club is based in the Dining Room.  Children must be brought to Breakfast Club by an adult who will sign them in to the club.  Some supervised activities will take place in other locations in the school from time to time.

Parents should bring children through the school playground and into the dining room from the playground door.

Who is Breakfast Club for?
Breakfast Club is for any child attending the school in Reception or above.

What does Breakfast Club cost?
Breakfast Club is not funded by the school.  Charges made to parents are intended to cover the cost of staffing, food and resources. The cost of Breakfast Club is £3.00 per session.

How do I pay and book?
Payment is in advance and all payments and bookings must be made through ParentPay (www.parentpay.com).  No refunds will be given for absence.

All bookings must be made at least one clear day in advance so that we can ensure we have the correct numbers of staff. Therefore, you may book for a Wednesday session up to the end of Monday, and so on. If you would like to book for the following day, you may check with the school office to see if places are available.

To book, log into your ParentPay account and select the breakfast club option.  There are two stages to booking:

  1. Top of the funds in your account available for breakfast club
  2. Select the sessions you wish your child to attend (‘make a booking’)

If you do not have your log in details for ParentPay, please ask us.
