We're so proud of our Year 1 and Year 2 children. They have told us the story of the very first Christmas with amazing acting, super singing and splendid speaking! The story is incredible - Jesus, the Son of God, is born in Bethlehem, in a stable under a star – a wonderful miracle that would change the world forever. As with all our web pages, if you or your child features in a photo and you prefer it not to be on our site, please email office@buckinghampark.org and we will remove it without question.

“Extra! Extra! – Read all about it!” So read the front page of The Angel Express, announcing the birth of Jesus. The angels respond with great excitement and hastily form a choir to sing and celebrate the arrival of the newborn King. Our EYFS Christmas Production follows the excitement of heaven’s host of angels as they hurriedly practise a new song for the birth of baby Jesus – this will have to be an express production! Can the conductor prepare them in time with so many distracting headlines such as ‘Mary and Joseph Leave for Bethlehem’, ‘Enormous Star Seen In the East’ and ‘Three Kings Sighted From Afar’? Our Nursery and Reception children have done an amazing job. What a performance! As with all our web pages, if you or your child features in a photo and you prefer it not to be on our site, please email office@buckinghampark.org and we will remove it without question.
We had a wonderful Christmas Lunch on Wednesday. Our lunchtime and catering staff all dressed up for the occasion and set the hall up beautifully with Christmas table cloths and music! We're grateful for all the staff giving up their lunch break to serve the children, eat with them and help to clear everything away. It is quite a task to serve over 300 Christmas dinners but our staff rose to the challenge and everyone had a delicious meal and a great time! As with all our web pages, if you or your child features in a photo and you prefer it not to be on our site, please email office@buckinghampark.org and we will remove it without question.
Thank you to our wonderful group of guitarists who entertained us during Worship Time on Wednesday. We were really impressed with their performance. Some of the children had only been learning since September and are already performing on stage to a packed auditorium! As with all our web pages, if you or your child features in a photo and you prefer it not to be on our site, please email office@buckinghampark.org and we will remove it without question.
We have taken the difficult decision to close the school and nursery on Monday 11 December due to the adverse weather conditions. When taking this decision, we have had to take into account the safety of children and pupils in and around the school site. Additionally, with many staff travelling from outside Buckingham Park and Aylesbury, we have had to consider their safety and also the supervision issues that are created by staff unable to get to work or arriving very late due to travelling conditions. We will keep this site updated on Monday, as well as our social media feeds so that we can inform you about the remainder of the week. We will also let you know about any arrangements for the rescheduling of the KS1 Christmas Plays - please hang on to your tickets! The Met Office has advised us that there is the chance of snow at some point over the next week, so we want to take this opportunity to remind you of our communication procedure in the event of poor weather. Firstly, it is important to say that we will always endeavour to keep our school open if it is safe to do so. If the decision to close a school is made, this decision is taken by Mr Waldron, in consultation with the school’s Governing Board Chair. These decisions are not taken lightly and are often made following a recommendation from the Local Authority or as a result of warnings from the police, transport authorities or met office. Schools very occasionally close in the event of severe weather conditions, a loss of essential services (power, water or heating), insufficient staff numbers or another significant happening. Many of our staff, especially our qualified teachers, live quite a distance from school so we have to consider whether those staff are able to travel safely to school in the event of poor weather. In the event of school closure we will notify parents through the Bucks County Council Website. Mr Waldron is the only person with the authority to list the school closure on this secure site so, if our school is listed as closed, we are closed – there is no need to ring the school. The local radio stations (Mix 96 and Three Counties Radio) will also be informed if we are closed for any reason. We’ll also try to get an update posted to our school website. Please do not ring the school. Always check the Bucks County Council website first. The volume of incoming calls can make it difficult for us to contact our staff or emergency services if every parent tries to call in. Remember: https://closures.buckscc.gov.uk/ Always check this website first and follow the links to education, schools, and school closures. |
