Our Year 6 children are set for a great adventure this week.   On Wednesday morning they headed off to the Hatfield Woods woodland centre for three days of outdoor living with The Bushcraft Company.   Living in the wild, sleeping under canvas and undertaking a wide range of activities, this residential visit will take our students on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery.

Keep an eye on on this blog page and we’ll try and keep you updated on their adventure!

Friday,11.30am
The children have become 'plan crash first responders' today.  Upon discovering a plane wreckage in the woods, their task has been to look after the casualties.

Friday,7.30am
Good morning from the woods!  All is well, and a slightly later start to the day than yesterday!  We have pancakes for breakfast, then a morning of activity before setting off for Buckingham Park this afternoon.  See you all later!

Thursday, 6.00pm
Pizzas for tea, created by the children and cooked in the pizza ovens.   Camouflage games this afternoon - we hope everyone was found!

Thursday, 12.30pm
A great morning in the woods. The children were finding out how to make traps.  Lunch is Salmon, prepared on site.  A few brave volunteers have had a try of fish eye - sound like a bush-tucker trial!  This afternoon the children are making cutting tools from wood.

Thursday, 7.00am
Everyone was awake nice and early! Cooked breakfast at 7.30am.  The children loved sleeping under canvas. Owls could be heard, and the movement of muntjac deer. Everyone is looking forward to a long, fun-packed day!

Wednesday, 6pm
All is well. The children made fire (eventually), cooked lamb kebabs for lunch, made tribe flags, had flapjack for snack and are have built shelters. Great weather. Smiles all round.

It's spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and brownie for tea.  After that it will be woodland games and then bed.

Wednesday, 1.00pm
Mrs Campbell is getting hungry.  She's waiting for the children to light a fire so that they can cook lunch.  It's taking some time!

Wednesday, 10.30am
We've heard from Mrs Campbell that Year 6 have arrived safely at the Woodland Centre.   Exciting times!

Wednesday, 9.15am
The children are all on the coach and ready to go.   Have a great time!

Let's hope they don't cook in this beautiful weather...

The woodland environment will provide plenty of shade. What great weather for camping!
