Our first allocation of pupils - How exciting!

This week, the first round of allocations are made for Buckinghamshire's Primary Schools.  All parents who applied for a school place for their child back in January will hear the outcome of their application, and their children will be one step closer to starting school in September 2012.

Buckingham Park has been allocated 45 children to start in our two Reception classes in September, though this number may fall or rise as second and third rounds of allocations are made.

Nick Waldron, headteacher, comments, "It is thrilling to see such a good number of children allocated to our Reception classes for September.  Having a list of names of children makes the school so much more real - a school is a dark and lonely place without the children!  I begin my role as headteacher on Monday, and I will keep this list of children with me as we make every preparation - everything that we do between now and September is about these children.  They will always be remembered as our first cohort, and we want them to be super-successful and incredibly happy.  We look forward to working with them and their families."

Mr Waldron has indicated that one of his first jobs next week will be to write to each of the families whose child has been allocated a place, "We want to warmly welcome our first families and work closely with them from the outset.  It is a brave and exciting decision to accept a place at a school which is not yet open - we want to ensure that the children and families feel confident in that decision and to give them the opportunity to work with us as we
