 On Thursday 2nd July, children in Year 2 visited the Oxford Synagogue and The Vineyard Centre (Home of the Vale of Aylesbury Vineyard Church). The visit was a great way of supporting the children’s learning about Judaism and Christianity in RE. At the Synagogue, we were able to view the building, learn about Jewish tradition, customs and worship, and discuss artefacts. At the Vineyard Church the children viewed the worship space, learned all about the ‘Storehouse’ and heard about the church’s community work. It is wonderful for the children to see special places in 'real life' and also to hear directly from people about their faith. We are very grateful to the wonderful people at each place of worship who gave our staff and children a very warm welcome and a really informative visit.
