On Tuesday 14th July, children in Reception and Years 1 2, 3 and 4 will be visiting St James Church. As a church school we have a close friendship with St James Church and we try to visit the church at least once every academic year to support our link and our teaching of RE. The children will travel to the church by coach, accompanied by staff from the school, and will spend about an hour there. The children will be able to tour the church, and Revd Mark will be on hand to talk to the children and answer questions. Each group of children will have a focus for their visit: Reception: An introduction to St James Church Year 1: Art at St James (including stained glass windows) Year 2: Features of a Church Years 3 and 4: Symbols and symbolism We are looking forward to a great visit. We have a limited number of places for parents to help out on the visit. If you are interested, please speak to your child's class teacher.
